Happy belated New Year, folks! I don't usually write journal entries but today, one day into 2012, I convinced myself whip one up. I've gathered many watchers and readers in the past year or so, I finally feel like I have somewhat of an audience here. Even so, most of you will probably immediately remove this from your already overcrowded inbox--So I'll try to be brief!
I have a few projects in mind for 2012. I want to finish a comic I've been working on, on and off, since late 2010. It's hit quite a few snags along the way, but now I'm finally working on it again. It's called Confined Spirits and it's the primary reason I haven't posted anything for the past month. I'm going to start posting the finished pages here and on my tumblr. It will most likely be around 100 pages upon completion. I want self publish it and have you be able to buy it online somehow. I only hope people will want to read it since it's practically my life's work!
I also have this idea for a comic strip. It has no name, but I want it to be an adventure story influenced by my favorite video games and cartoons--the stuff I grew up on. I've got a couple main characters for it but I'm still nowhere near ready to put crow quill to the Bristol board. I'm not sure if I'm even going to do it. Would you even want to read something like that coming from me, the "horror guy?"
I also want to do more short works, 10-20 page affairs. There was something very fulfilling about completing Malignant. Plus, I want to get more practice working with a page limitation. I have this tendency to blow things up to a point where I can't possibly handle it in a reasonable frame of time... like Confined Spirits...
So much for keeping things brief... Anyway, here's to 2012! I'm hoping it will be the year I get some good comics done.
